Why become a member? People become a member the SMS because of their formation, their occupation, or just because they are interested in Mathematics. Being a member means, that you

• support our Exchange Service and Job Information Service for young mathematicians
• support our Scientific Journals
• support our Services for Schools (like the godparenthoods for maturity works)
• help us to enthuse pupils for mathematics
• help us to promote Continuing Education for Instructors
• support Mathematical Congresses in Switzerland

• Members enjoy a 20% discount for books of the EMS Publishing House.
• Members can subscribe to Elemente der Mathematik and Commentarii Mathematici Helvetici to a reduced price (see our Journals).
• Free Subscription to the weekly Bulletin of the SMS.
• Members can become reciprocity members of many Sister Societies and enjoy the respective privileges (e.g. book discounts, journal access etc.)
• Each member has his or her own entry in the Membership list
• Each member may choose an e-mail redirection: your.name@math.ch
• Members are served with announcements and information and are in touch with the mathematical world.
